13_DAY THIRTEEN FRII - Kennebunkport, ME

Writing today from the Bush compoud in Kennebunkport, ME.  I swear the SS was watching me in black suburban's and there was this guy jogging perpetually?  Anyway it was beautiful.  The huge boulders that were rounded off from the costant splashing of water.  I couldn't see the backyard of the Bush compound, but I could imagine it.

On the way south I had to stop in Portland to eat some chowda and clams.  I believe the name of the restaruant was Gilbert's Chowder House downtown in the shipyard.  I loved the chowda, but the clams were too big to eat, they gagged me!

During the day I was amazed at the beautiful statues of soldiers.  They were from all wars and large.  Many times set off in a meadow like a shrine or at the town squire as a focal point like time square in NY.

12_DAY TWELVE FRII - Houlton, ME

This ride takes me to Houlton, ME, on accident.  I leave Orono, ME and head east on Hwy 2, little did I know that east really means north!  By the time I realized it I was in a cool hamburger joint eating lunch and talking to the Houlton locals.  "No Portland is south of hear, your a ways away friend".  "The best thing you can do is jump on I 95 and head south, you won't miss nothin cause the coast is pretty gloomy today".  Gotta love it!

I jumped on the 95 and hauled ass toward Portland, but I only made it to Brunswick.

I guess the best part of this day was meeting the locals, which I would not have done had I not gone nearly to Quebec.  I'll try and go by there again when I come back to Canada.  I was surprised at how Seattle like the coast was, meaning misty and distant.  No Pacific Coast Highway out here.  Most of the time you can't even see the ocean for the trees!

11_DAY ELEVEN FRII - Bangor, ME

All I can say is "one helluva ride today"!  Scenic views beyond belief.  Rushing rivers, lush meadows, roaring rivers, huge lakes, wildflowers everywhere, ferries, covered bridges, you name it I saw it on this day.  I think from a beauty standpoint Vermont and New Hampshire are the gems of the northeast.

Today I would travel from Lake Placid, to Saranac lake, across lake Champlain on the ferry, through the entire states of Vermont, New Hampshire and into Bangor, ME.  Wow, I did it.  All 50 states!

If you don't count my interview of the "Harley Lady" on the ferry, then my favorite of the day were the rolling meadows of green fields covered in yellow wildflowers and usually containing an old red barn and silo.  If that wasn't the case there was alway something like an ancient stone wall or closed down resort of cabins, or war memorial, or even the coolest cemetaries dating back to pre-USA in the 1740's!

I love traveling on a motorcycle!  The wind, rain, snow, cold, hot, whatever the case you are a part of the landscape and the feeling is sometimes overwhelming.  I think I'll leave it at that.

10_DAY TEN FRII - Lake Placid, NY

Not much to say about today, you see, I slept until 4:00pm!  The clock was wrong in my room and I thought it was actually 11:00am.  Oh well, stayed out of the rain for the most part and did laundry.

On this day I ate a great meal at the Golden Bear, met a woman who's husband got mad at me, and went to an AA meeting in the basement of a church where a sex addict was speaking.  She was cute and I was hoping she still had a little left in her, ha!  JK

09_DAY NINE FRII - Lake Placid, NY

Wow what a day in sports viewing history.  Cooperstown in the morning and Lake Placid in the evening!

I start the day today in the beautiful upstate New York countryside, a place where I would spend many an hour of the next week.  Aside from the horrible roads one of my favorite places in the Adirondack mountains.

I thought I might fool you guys into believing that I actually went inside the Baseball Hall of Fame, but truth be told I could care less.  I skipped it for more riding time and sleep.  I spent most of my time looking for a new camera and driving around this beautiful city.  You see as I was driving yesterday in the rain my camera slipped out of my pocket.  RRRRRRRRR!

A decision was made, I will go to Saratoga Springs and buy another video camera, cause I don't want to miss capturing a moose on video charging me.  You Tube you know, ha.  This ride takes me through the countryside with intermittent thunderstorms until I reach the Best Buy.  After buying the camera I decided to grab a bite at Five Guys Burgers before heading to Lake Placid.  It will be a long wet ride and I don't know when or if I'll get dinner.

One would have thought that while I was sitting at Five Guys I would have taken some test video, but no I don't need directions.  All the way up I'm taping "skinny" video cause I'm not holding the camera correctly!  Serves me right.  I pull into Lake Placid, NY late that night and eat at the gas station while finding a hotel.  There's a youth wrestling association in town and it's booked except for the Econolodge!  Yippee!  Sleep!  Dry!  Warm!
